New Features

 

Wozterm is the Windows™ 32 bit successor to Ozterm 6.x. Wozterm provides the key functionality of Ozterm in a Windows fashion and is designed for use with Telstra's new generation of Operational Support Systems such as NEM, NEAS, DCAP, and OSS.

  • Windows™ program.
  • Wozhelp tool to access ALEX exchange documentation.
  • Integrated Multi-session support.
  • 255 character wide terminal window.
  • Scrollback mode and 25 Line VT100 mode.
  • Undo, Cut, Copy and Paste between windows.
  • Hex view in terminal window.
  • Both line and block based selections in terminal window.
  • Script editor checks for syntax errors on script load.
  • One-click breakpoints in script editor.
  • Runtime errors display in script editor.
  • Inbuilt support for TCP/IP telnet connections.
  • Supports NEAS and NEM.
  • Supports DCAP and OSS.
  • Supports UNIX and MANUAL command entry modes.
  • Can be used programmatically by other applications via the Microsoft COM architecture
  • New easier to use @menu and @form commands.
  • Richer user script language using the OVM (Ozterm Virtual Machine) engine
  • Companion product Wozix (Wozterm for Unix) for use on unix platforms.



Getting Wozterm

 

We recommend using RADIA deployment to get Wozterm by going to http://wsweb0102.in.telstra.com.au/WebReq4IT/softwaretree.asp. Once page loads, expand 'W' branch and select Wozterm. Add all the workstations that require Wozterm, check your details are correct then follow the prompts to complete request. You will receive notification when Wozterm is ready to install and you can either let the installation occur automatically overnight or manually install immediately.

If RADIA is not available to you, Wozterm can be installed via Wozterm Downloads.

To obtain Wozix, OVM Library or address a support issue refer to Key Contacts.




Command Line Arguments


wozterm [-ozterm6] [-session999] [script path and name [script arguments]]


-wozterm* start the session in Wozterm scripting mode
-ozterm6* start the session in OZTERM 6 scripting mode
-session specifies the session number to use (1-999 valid)
script path and name path and name of script file to load on startup
script arguments any arguments that might be required by the initial script file loaded at startup

  eg wozterm -session10 ..\tutorials\runfirst.cmd 1 2 3 4
* if scripting mode not specified wozterm starts in auto scripting mode allowing user to run but not edit Wozterm & Ozterm Scripts

The basic components of Wozterm can be defined as follows:

Description

  1. Script Editor Pane

The top third of the Wozterm Interface is the Script Editor. This pane is a simple text editor providing basic Windows™ Cut, Copy and Paste functionality.

  1. Script Progress Bar

Located to the left of the Script Editor is a Script Progress Bar. Although mainly used to track script execution progress, it can be used for interactive debugging purposes.

  1. VT100 Terminal Emulation Pane

The middle third of the Wozterm Interface is the VT100 Terminal Emulation pane.

  1. Active Pane Indicator Bar

Indicates which pane is currently active.

  1. Multi-function Pane

The bottom third of the Wozterm Interface serves multiple purposes. This pane is a collection of seven tabs: a Command History tab, an @WINDOW tab for legacy screen draw functions, Text and Time Event tabs, a Function Key assignment tab, and finally a Variable Watch and a Messages tab.

  1. Status Bar

The Wozterm Status Bar is used to display Wozterm’s current status.

 
  1. Menu

Wozterm features a standard Windows™ menu bar.

  1. File Action Buttons

Fast access to commonly used File menu items has been provided via the use of File Action Buttons in Wozterm.

  1. Script Action Buttons

Similarly, fast access to commonly used Script menu items has been provided.
