------------------------------------
1.There is a PIF file supplied for windows operation. It
is called OZTERMC.PIF. This PIF file uses OZLAN.BAT to
        start OZTERM.

2.In the windows environment create a ICON using this
PIF file. There are two Icons provided.

For details how to create a ICON etc under windows

F10 the site you are connected to is
               disconnected.

3: ADVANCED FEATURES INSTALLATION.
==================================
3.1: INTRODUCTION
-----------------
Several other features are available in the OZTERM Package.
   These include:-

   a) Super Sorter Working.
   b) Datagate Working.

Being an Advanced Feature this section assumes the user
is PC literate and has some knowledge of his networks.

3.2. Super Sorter Working.
--------------------------
There are 3 ways of Super Sorter working:-

   1. A Site Access Switch and as a Sorter for AXE
   2. A Site Access Switch, Site Access via the
AOM off the output of the Sorter and as a
      Sorter for AXE
   3. A Sorter for AXE. Access to the sorter via a data
comms network. It may or may not have AOM site
      access off the sorter.

Network type 1:-
----------------
         ______ ___Site 1
   -- | | |
  |PC|--|Sorter|--|
   -- |______| |___Site 2 etc

Network type 2:-
----------------

         ______ ___Site 1
   -- | | |
  |PC|--|Sorter|--| ___
   -- |______| |___| |
                      |AOM|--- AXE Exchanges
                      |___|

Network type 3:-
----------------
         ______
        | | ______ ___Site 1
   -- |Data | | | |
  |PC|--|Comms |---|Sorter|--| ___
   -- |Netwk | |______| |___| |
        |______| |AOM|--- AXE Exchanges
                                 |___|

For all modes of Super Sorter Working the SORTER.C
File must be copied to the OZTERM Main directory as
   SORTER.DAT and modified as required.

There are 4 files which must be edited.

   1. SORTER.DAT contains Sorter Names & other sorter
      information.

   2. SEL_SORT.TXT - used mainly for the setup of
connections to the ports on the output of the
sorter (If a link to the AOM from the sorter
exists then SEL_SORT.TXT is used to setup
connections to sites via the AOM).

SSMENU.CMD uses SEL_SORT.TXT to set up connection from
the sorter to the sites. If site is an AOM then it sets
up site connection the other side of the AOM.

   3. SEL_state.TXT - used mainly to set up the path to
connect the PC to the sorter.

   4. CHK-PORT.HLP - a help file found in the SS
directory which contains information, which SS
menu displays, about the sorter ports.

3.2.1. Copy SORTER.C File as SORTER.DAT

      - At the DOS Prompt Type C:\
      - Type CD OZTERM (To get to the OZTERM Directory)
      - Type Copy SORTER.C SORTER.DAT (Copy Sorter File)

                     (SORTSTA.CMD).

Exit the editor & save changes.

4: UPDATE INSTALLATION.
=======================

4.1: INTRODUCTION:
------------------

4.1.1. An update installation is referring to:-

       a) An existing application that is working with the
standard directory and file naming structure.
       b) A stand alone PC with a Hard Disk recognised as "C"
drive running MS Dos 3.3 or higher.
       c) The user may have to edit text files using a Text
Only Word Processor as provided with OZTERM or
          one similar to Windows Notepad.

4.1.2. Before commencing the update you must have the files
as defined in the relevant OZTERM NEWSLETTER. These
files are usually located on KEYLINK under the
       AXE.BINDERS.BOARD area.

4.2 INSTALLATION of UPGRADE.
----------------------------
4.2.1. The files are in a compressed self extracting
format hence they will need to be decompressed.
They must also be loaded on a floppy disk.
To Decompress go to the DOS Prompt in the
drive where file and disk is located.
       - type in file name then press Enter
The files will now be uncompressed (and extracted).

4.2.2. One of the decompressed files will be a .BAT file
       eg TXFUPD.BAT or PMBUPD.BAT.

This file must also be run. The .BAT file copies
all the relevant extracted files to the working
directories and then provides an option to delete
the extracted files from the source disk.

4.2.3. If the SEL_state.TXT has been modified then
       - Get a paper copy of you existing file in the LOCAL
         directory.
       - At the DOS Prompt Type C:\
       - Type CD OZTERM (To get into the OZTERM Directory)
       - Type CD LOCAL (To go to the LOCAL Directory)
       - Type Copy C:\OZTERM\TEXT\SEL_state.TXT (state = your
state ie WA or VIC etc)
       - Do section 2.2. steps 10.
                               11.
                               12.
                               13.

Using the data printed out in the paper copy.

4.2.4. If the AOM_state.TXT has been modified then
       - Get a paper copy of you existing file in the LOCAL
         directory.
       - At the DOS Prompt Type C:\
       - Type CD OZTERM (To get into the OZTERM Directory)
       - Type CD LOCAL (To go to the LOCAL Directory).
       - Type Copy C:\OZTERM\TEXT\AOM_state.TXT (state = your
state ie WA or VIC etc
       - Do section 2.2 steps 15 - 19

4.2.5. If the LOCAL.C file has been changed then
       - Get a paper copy of your existing LOCAL.DAT file in
         your C:\OZTERM directory.

       Copy LOCAL.C to LOCAL.DAT file

       - Type CD .. (You should be in the OZTERM Directory Here
(ie DOS Prompt should be "C:\OZTERM")
       - Type Copy LOCAL.C LOCAL.DAT

       - Do section 2.2 steps 5.
                              6.
                              7.
                              8.
                              9.

Using the data printed out in the paper copy.

4.3. If any other .C files that you use have been changed:-
-----------------------------------------------
      eg DGQLD.C
         DIAL.C
         DXL.C
         DXRB.C
         ETDS.C
         MDXSW.C
         PMB.C
         RBNSW.C
         RBSU.C
         SORTER.C
         SUBS.C

Where any of the above files have been changed refer to
the latest INSTALL.TXT file and the relevent OZTERM
Newsletter as the related .DAT files will need to be
      updated.

      - Print the current working version of the file.
      - Copy the file.C to file.DAT
             eg COPY SORTER.C SORTER.DAT
      - Edit the new file.DAT file to include the local
        information.

!-------------------- The End ---------------------------!
