1-----------------------------------------------------------------------1

1.   GENERAL

1.1 Before you start, it is important to read the OZSETUP.TXT file and
     familiarise yourself with the OZTERM manual, including the appendices.

1.2 Load the transmit files onto the PC into the designated DIRectories
     using the appropriate Batch file, eg TXF66.BAT C:

2-----------------------------------------------------------------------2

2.   LOCAL.DAT & LOCAL2.DAT

2.1 The LOCAL.DAT file is used by most of the Script files in order to
     set various parameters such as where B-Modules are and Script file
     directories. This file is to be stored in the OZTERM Working
     Directory, ie where the OZDVR.REF File is found (eg C:\OZTERM or
     H:\COMMS\OZTERM).
     Edit the LOCAL.C (for stand alone PC working) or LOCAL.LAN (for LAN
     Drive working) to suit your local environment, and save as LOCAL.DAT
     in the OZTERM Working Directory.
     Note that the maximum path and file length in OZTERM is 40 characters.

2.2  LOCAL.DAT Example for C: Drive

2.4  PASSWORD SETUP

2.4.1  PASSWORD SETUP FOR AOM
       There are 3 options:-

       1. Have the AOM password held in the OZTERM setup, this will
          handle 1 password.
          LOCAL.DAT settings:-
            @set _setaomp = "YES"
            @set _pword = 1
            then ignore _aomp?, _aomsit?

       2. Have the AOM password(s) held in the LOCAL.DAT file, this
          will handle infinite number of passwords.
          LOCAL.DAT settings:-
            @set _setaomp = "NO"
            @set _pword = 3 (Number of AOM LNCD codes)
            @set _aomsit1 = "WWWW" (AOM LNCD code for site 1)
            @set _aomsit2 = "XXXX"
            @set _aomsit3 = "YYYY"
            @set _aomp1 = "????#????"  (AOM password for site 1)
            @set _aomp2 = "????#????"
            @set _aomp3 = "????#????"

       3. Have the AOM password requested at each site connection,
          This will handle infinite passwords.
          LOCAL.DAT settings:-
            @set _setaomp = "NO"
            @set _pword = 1
            @set _aomsit1 = "WWWW"  (non-valid LNCD code for site 1)
            @set _aomp1 = "????#????"  (AOM password for site 1)
         NOTE: non-valid means an LNCD code that does not appear in the
               SEL_???.TXT file.

2.4.2 PASSWORD SETUP FOR SYSTEM 12
       There are 4 options:-

       1. Have the SYSTEM 12 password held in the OZTERM setup, this
          will handle 1 password.
          LOCAL.DAT settings:-
            @set _setsysp = "YES"
            @set _singlesysp = "NO"

          will handle 1 password.
          LOCAL.DAT settings:-
            @set _singlesysp = "YES"
            @set _singlespwd = "MERMADE"
            @set _setsysp = "NO"
            @set _pwords = 1
            then ignore _sysp?, _syssit?

       3. Have the SYSTEM 12 password(s) held in the LOCAL.DAT file, this
          will handle infinite number of passwords.
          LOCAL.DAT settings:-
            @set _setsysp = "NO"
            @set _singlesysp = "NO"
            @set _pwords = 3         (Number of SYS-12 LNCD codes)
            @set _syssit1 = "WWWW"   (SYS-12 LNCD code for site 1)
            @set _syssit2 = "XXXX"
            @set _syssit3 = "YYYY"
            @set _sysp1 = "???????"  (SYS-12 password for site 1)
            @set _sysp2 = "???????"
            @set _sysp3 = "???????"
            then ignore _singlespwd

       4. Have the SYSTEM 12 password requested at each site connection,
          OZTERM will hold the password in setup until the connection is
          released. This will handle infinite passwords.
          LOCAL.DAT settings:-
            @set _setsysp = "NO"
            @set _singlesysp = "NO"
            @set _pwords = 1
            @set _syssit1 = "WWWW"  (non-valid LNCD code for site 1)
            then ignore _sysp?, _singlespwd
         NOTE: non-valid means an LNCD code that does not appear in the
               SEL_???.TXT file.

2.5 The LOCAL2.DAT file is used by CONNECT.CMD and CONNEXCH.CMD when the
     operator wishes to connect to more than one AOM. This files is used
     to associate the AOM password, AOM name, Site Data file and State.
     For example this allows the operator to connect to AOMA and AOMB with
     their own password and Site data files, eg AOM_AOMA.TXT and AOM_AOMB.TXT.
     In order to select the correct Site data file when using CONNEXCH.CMD to
     switch between sites, the file AUSTRALI.CHK is used to store the State
     name associated with the particular AOM you are currently connected to.
     Therefore it is important to have different "State" names for each AOM,
     even if the AOM's are in fact in the same State, eg QLDA and QLDB.

2.6  LOCAL2.DAT Example FILE

! LOCAL2.DAT    Version 1.4     24/11/95
! This file is to reside in the users working directory as LOCAL2.DAT. It is
! used to set the AOM Site Names, and their corresponding passwords,
! AOM_???.TXT file, and State the AOM is associated with when more than one
! AOM is used.
!
! Site selection File NAMES
! The drive and directory are fixed in the transmit file to the OZTERM\CMDS
! directory under _HDRV and _OZBASE.
! _xgedata? = Data for sites connected via a particular AOM.
! _xgedata? = "none" to check application type on connection to the site
@set _xgedat1 = "aom_qlda.txt"
@set _xgedat2 = "aom_qldb.txt"
@set _xgedat3 = "aom_vic.txt"
@set _xgedat4 = "aom_wa.txt"

! AOM States. These are stored in the CHecK file "AUSTRALI.CHK" in the users
! working directory. The state info is used to point to the xgedata? file for
! CONNEXCH.CMD

@set _state2 = "QLDB"
@set _state3 = "VIC"
@set _state4 = "WA"

3-----------------------------------------------------------------------3

3.   SORTER

3.1 If you have access to a Super Sorter, then you will need to edit
     the SORTER.DAT file that is located in your OZTERM program directory
     to suit your local PC configuration. You will also need to create
     your own CHK-PORT.HLP file to indicate the local port allocations.
     A sample has been provided in the OZTERM\CMDS\SS directory.

     Edit your SEL_???.TXT and put SS in the Bmd column.
     This will force CONNECT.CMD to process the Sorter connection
     and setup SSMENU.CMD onto F2.

3.2  SORTER.DAT example

! SORTER.DAT    Version 1.6     17/08/94

4-----------------------------------------------------------------------4

4.   ARF-C

4.1 If you have access to ARF-C sites, then you will need to edit
     your SEL_???.TXT and put FC in the Bmd column.
     This will force CONNECT.CMD to process the OMI port connection
     and load FCMENU.CMD on F2.
     Edit the OMI.DAT file that is located in your OZTERM working
     directory to suit your Username and Password.
     Also where the AUSTPAC line requires "7,even", then the COMBAUD
     and COMBAUD2 variables will be required instead of "P" in
     SORTFLG2 in the SEL_???.TXT file. This will be necessary for
     "File Transfer" using XMODEM protocol which requires 8 bit working.

4.2  OMI.DAT example

! OMI.DAT       Version 1.1     26/08/94
! This file is intended to reside in the users working directory. It
! specifies some variables that are used by other script files to locate
! files required.
!
! OMI Login
@set _dglogin = "user"

! OMI Password
@set _dgqpswd = "password"

! Where line needs to be altered at connection.

! If set combaud used then reset to default conditions as disconnect occurs.
@@set COMBAUD2 = "9600,7,even"

5-----------------------------------------------------------------------5

5.   STATE Local Site Files

5.1 The basic State files for SEL_state.TXT and AOM_state.TXT have been
     provided so that each site will require minimum editing to prepare
     their local files. These files are located in the \OZTERM\TEXT
     directory. Your files should be copied to the \OZTERM\LOCAL directory.

6-----------------------------------------------------------------------6

6.   SEL_???.TXT

6.1 Edit your State Device Access file (SEL_???.TXT where ??? is WA, SA,
     QLD, etc) so that it suits your local data communications arrangements.
     Each LINE provides all the information necessary to connect from the
     PC to an Exchange or Super Sorter as described in the menu overview.
     Each FIELD on the LINE must be positioned correctly in order for the
     program to read the value. The values in each FIELD must only be those

   CONNECT_STRING 59-73 Device connect string eg. 15 Characters
                              May be set to HUNT GROUP? to use the Hunt Group
                              search and connect facility in CONNECT.CMD

   The Sorter Flags are used for the Sorter menu system (ie. SSMENU.CMD
   with SEL_SORT.TXT), and various other functions depending on the type
   of connection medium, and number of connection sequences. Refer to
   the section detailing the .DAT file setup for your type of connection
   (eg. AUSTPAC.DAT) for more information regarding the values required
   for the two Sorter Flags.
                              SEL_SORT.TXT
   SORTER FLAG 1 75 X for sites accessed via AOM, etc.
   SORTER FLAG 2 77 X for sites direct connected to sorter, etc.

Where the LOCAL.DAT variable _stringadj has been set to "EXTEND". (see Note 5)

   CONNECT_STRING 59-78 Device connect string ie. 20 Characters

   SORTER FLAG 1 80 X for sites accessed via AOM, etc.
   SORTER FLAG 2 82 X for sites direct connected to sorter, etc.

Where the LOCAL.DAT variable _stringadj has been set to "21" up to "69". (see
Note 5).

   CONNECT_STRING 59-79/128 Device connect string ie. 21 to 69 Characters

   SORTER FLAG 1  {position MUST = 75+(_lncdsize - 4)+(_stringadj-15)}
   SORTER FLAG 2  {position MUST = 77+(_lncdsize - 4)+(_stringadj-15)}

SPECIAL NOTE
============
   1. Where the Sorter connection is required - Bmd is set to SS.
   2. Where the ARF-C connection is required - Bmd is set to FC.
   3. For the Customer Operations Terminal - Bmd is set to CAM.
   4. For ARE-11 where CCR is set to Y, make sure _termcat in
      LOCAL.DAT is the correct value.
   5. Where the LOCAL.DAT variable _lncdsize has been set to larger than 4,
      ALL the fields after LNCD will need to be moved by an amount equal to
      "_lncdsize - 4" columns to the right. This must be done to ALL
      SEL_???.TXT files that are accessed by the users with LOCAL.DAT
      _lncdsize set to a value other than 4.
   6. Where the LOCAL.DAT variable _stringadj has been set to other than
      "NORMAL", the sorter flags have to be moved by an equal ammount.

6.2  MULTIPLE SEL_???.TXT FILES

     With assistance of the include file ERRMENU.INC, CONNECT.CMD will
     search the other SEL_???.TXT files for the first appearence of the
     LNCD code or technology label (eg !LABEL AXE). The operator may set
     this file to look at any number of SEL_???.TXT files. Therefore it
     is possible to have one SEL_???.TXT file per Technology type.

6.3  MULTIPLE LINK CONNECTION PATH

     Where a SITE connection is via more than one data communications
     connection link (eg. Datagate to AOM to Exchange), then in the
     SEL_???.TXT file/s the Sorter Flags may be used to discriminate
     between the stages of the connection. The Sorter Flags are used
     in EXCHANGE.INC to determine if another connection stage is required,
     if so, which Exchange Selection file is to be iused for the next
     stage of the connection. For example, if the connection to the
     Exchange is via a Datagate to an AOM then to an AXE Exchange the
     following settings could be used:

       1. Set both SORTER FLAGS to X in the first Exchange Selection File
       2. Set SORTER FLAG 2 to W in the second Exchange Selection file.

     This will cause CONNECT.CMD to bypass the Logon and include the
     file EXCHANGE.INC which will refer to the file SEL_NEXT.TXT for
     the information required to setup the part of the connection.

     Refer to the sample files of EXCHANGE.INC (ie EXCHANGE.SPL,
     EXCHANGE.AOM and EXCHANGE.MDF) for examples of this connection
     method.

6.4 HUNT GROUP SEARCH AND CONNECT FACILITY

     Where a SITE connection can be via a number of different ports, a Hunt
     Group search facility may be configured for CONNECT.CMD using the
     F:\APPS\OZTERM\LOCAL\HG_TXT.INC file to set the Exchange Selection
     file/s to be searched for the various port connection details. To use
     this facility the following must be done:

6.4.1  Exchange Selection File Configuration

       The default Exchange Selection file, eg NOC_INT.TXT, must be
       configured using a Hunt Group LNCD name to specify the Group, eg TTOKU
       for the Unrestricted virtual AT ports in TTOK Exchange, and TTOKR for
       the Restricted virtual AT ports in TTOK Exchange. The Connect_string
       for for the Hunt Group LNCD name, eg TTOKU and TTOKR, must be set to
       HUNT GROUP? where ? may be a space or a number to distinguish between
       different Hunt Group Exchange Selection files to be searched.

       The Group search feature is sequential with a random starting point.
       If you want the search to always start at the first site listed in the
       Hunt Group Exchange Selection file, then Sorter Flag 1 or 2 must be set
       to "H". This will ensure the connection attempts will always go from
       the first to last in the Selection file.

       NOTE: all the Exchanges using the Hunt Group Search facility may use
             the same Hunt Group Selection file or separate files.

       For example, the "normal" Exchange Selection file, eg NOC_INT.TXT, may
       be configured as shown below:

! NOC_INT.TXT
!--------0---------0----5----0----5----0----5----0----5----0----5----0----5--!
!xge-name Lncd APT CCR Bmd Prt COMbaud ModeDev Connect-string Sorter!
!--------------AOM-------|--|--|----|---|------------|---|----|--------------Flag!
Tokyo NATU0    TTOKU     ?  ?  ?    ?   ?            IOG INT  HUNT GROUP           ? ?
Tokyo NATR1    TTOKR     ?  ?  ?    ?   ?            IOG INT  HUNT GROUP           H ?

       In the example above the Hunt Group details for both TTOKU and TTOKR
       are stored in the Exchange Selection file referred to in HG_TXT.INC
       against the "HUNT GROUP" setting. The TTOKU addresses will be
       attempted with a random start point and the TTOKR addresses will always
       be attempted from the first to last as Sort Flag 1 is set to "H".

6.4.2 Hunt Group Selection File Configuration

       The Hunt Group Exchange Selection file is set up with the individual
       port names and addresses to be accessed for each Hunt Group, eg all
       the Unrestricted TTOK virtual AT ports will have an LNCD set to
       TTOKU20, TTOKU21...., TTOKU29 and the Restricted TTOK virtual AT ports
       will have LNCD's TTOKR1...., TTOKR5. The Connect_string's will be set
       to the individual port addresses.

       For example the Hunt Group Selection file may be configured as
       illustrated as below:

! HG_INT.TXT    Version 1.0     12/01/00

       Note: Sorter Flag 1 is set to "p" instead of "P" to use alternate PAD
              settings, in this case virtual AT ports, in INT14.DAT

6.4.3 Hunt Group Definition File HG_TXT.INC

       The Hunt Group Definition file HG_TXT.INC is used to set the variable
       HG_SEARCH to the appropriate Hunt Group Selection file according to
       the Connect_string set in the Exchange Selection file. For example,
       if the Connect_string for TTOKU is set to HUNT GROUP, the Hunt Group
       Selection file may be set to HG_INT.TXT, alternatively if the
       Connect_string is set to HUNT GROUP1 the Hunt Group Selection file
       may be set to HG1_INT.TXT.

       Below is an example of the F:\APPS\OZTERM\LOCAL\HG_TXT.INC file:

@TITLE("Set Hunt Group Search files")

6.5.3   COM - COMCON.INC & COMDISC.CMD
*********** COM port (directly connected to TW, AT, TCX, etc.)

   DEV set to Device type COM
   CONNECT_STRING  leave blank

6.5.4   CCA - CCACON.INC & CCADISC.CMD
*********** For connection to a VMX server via TCP/IP session.
              This requires two Exchange Selection files to be set-up. The
              first file is used to set-up a TCP/IP session to the VMX server,
              and the second Select file is used to connect the session via an
              Austpac session to the Exchange.

       The first Exchange Select file, eg PS_VDM.TXT

   DEV set to Device type VDM
   CONNECT_STRING set to the server name used in the Domain Name Service.
   SORTER FLAG 1 set to 2 to enable the second stage of the connection.
                   For example:

!xge-name Lncd APT CCR Bmd Prt COMbaud ModeDev Connect-string Sorter!

       The second Exchange Select file, eg PS_CCAS.TXT

   DEV set to Device type CCA
   CONNECT_STRING set to the LRN, followed by a right bracket, followed by
                   the host Austpac address. For example:

!xge-name Lncd APT CCR Bmd Prt COMbaud ModeDev Connect-string Sorter!

       As this is a multi-stage connection process, EXCHANGE.INC must also
       be modified to change from the first Exchange Selection file to the
       second.  For example:

@TITLE("EXCHANGE.INC Multi-stage connect")
  @if SORTFLG1 = "2" then goto CCAS

       ITI14 5A COM1

   Where: "ITI14" is the program name,
           "5A"      ties interrupt 14 to interrupt 5A
           "COM1" is the virtual Com port session. If you are using

                     session, eg COM2 for session 2, COM3 for session 3, etc.

   It is inadvisable to the the XPAD program at this time as it has been
   found that the program is prone to losing data when the PC is heavily
   loaded.

Note 2: This connection type assumes the user is connecting to NEAS
              via a VDMTCP Telnet session in Windows NT. The script will
              automatically accttempt to connect to NEAS, then perform the
              NEAS login and connection sequence. Therefore this connection
              configuration is classed as only a single stage connection and

6.5.22  TCP - TCPCON.INC & TCPDISC.CMD & TCPNET.DAT
*********** Using TELNET Sessions to access sites via TCP/IP:

   DEV set to Device type TCP
   CONNECT_STRING may be set to required TCP/IP address

   DOS             run TELAPI.EXE
   DOS             run TSU.EXE

INSTALLATION.

  - The DOS Programs TELAPI.EXE and TSU.EXE are installed in the OZTERM
    working directory or LAN Program directory.
  - The Batch files TSUOZ.BAT and OZTEL.BAT are installed in the OZTERM
    working directory or LAN Program directory.
  - TCPCON.INC and TCPDISC.CMD are installed in the OZTERM\CMDS directory.
  - TCPNET.DAT installed in the working directory, or LAN Program directory.
    This file is edited for required Sites to be accessed, IP address
    (eg. 144.138.74.70) and Virtual COM port.
  - Setup OZTERM ports for a NASI "board" type. Note that only one Telapi
    session may be used per NASI "board" type. If you want to use more
    than one Telapi session, more than one "board" must be setup for NASI
    up to a maximum of 4 "boards".

For example OZDVR.REF would look like this for a single Telnet session, one
ITI14 session, COM2 and a four port card COM3 - 6:

0000 0000 0 1 3 N <= board 1 (address/latch address/irq /no ports/multiport)
0000 0000 0 1 4 N
02F8 0000 3 1 0 N

6 (** 0 no. HEX *** total no of ports.   Ports 1 to 16 follow - )
Telnet   COM5     5N0 7 2 1 7 C:\OZTERM\OZ1\
ITI14 P1 COM6     5N0 7 2 1 7 C:\OZTERM\OZ2\

port 8   COM12    5N0 7 2 1 7 C:\OZTERM\
.
.
.
etc

For example OZDVR.REF would look like this for a four Telnet sessions:

0000 0000 0 1 3 N <= board 1 (address/latch address/irq /no ports/multiport)
0000 0000 0 1 3 N
0000 0000 0 1 3 N
0000 0000 0 1 3 N
3 (** 0 no. HEX *** total no of ports.   Ports 1 to 16 follow - )
Telnet 1 COM5     5N0 7 2 1 7 C:\OZTERM\OZ1\
Telnet 2 COM6     5N0 7 2 1 7 C:\OZTERM\OZ2\
Telnet 3 COM7     5N0 7 2 1 7 C:\OZTERM\OZ3\

port 8   COM12    5N0 7 2 1 7 C:\OZTERM\
.
.
.
etc

  - If you are using Windows then install the OZTEL.PIF file.
  - Using OZTEL.BAT to Load/Unload/Load the Telapi driver will prevent screen
    corruption.

PROCEDURE.

  - On running OZTERM batch file (OZTEL.BAT or OZTEL.PIF), a Telapi session
    is set up with the default parameters.
  - When required, an LNCD is selected from SEL_xx.TXT, and CONNECT.CMD
    runs TCPCON.INC which opens a TELNET session and connects to the required
    site via TCP/IP through the NASI LAN port using TSU.EXE.
  - Only 1 connection is possible through the TELNET session per NASI "board"
    type (ie to a maximum of 4 NASI "boards")
  - TCPDISC.CMD is called to disconnect the session and the TELNET session
    is released, using TSU.EXE.
