00 Normal - This is usually normal.
              1) Try a Verify to find further problems.
              2) If B1 works but B2 does not- There may be a problem
with the variables controlling this particular Onramp2
service. Contact P&O and ask them to reset the
                 variables using TEST SYSTEM.

(To reset it. Layer 2 Change category of service to turn off
              Automatic Exchange Testing)
ie. Implement LTE-4 Category. See INFO BULLETIN 6.2 ISDN NPMG
If this occurs in Package 5 please contact the NPMG.
              b) Check Pt-Pt -Pt-Mpt configuration.

82 Loss of D-Channel path to Time Switch
              a) Try replacing the DTB2U-0 card. You will be lucky it that
                 works!
              b) Get P&O involved
              c) Get Erricson involved

84 Possible device processor Fault in DCL-Card this may affect
              the whole EM.

88 Auto Blocking
Try A Block and De-Block and then maybe a SLOMI.

If this code then turns to HC8 see HC8.

C1 Open CCT Layer 1 Problem. Possible Line fault.

C2 1) Try swapping from Pt to Pt then Pt to Mpt or vice versa.
              2) Try a Block and de-block.
              3) Possible Time Switch Bus EMG problem.
              Check for Control Blocking.
              Check if EMG/RSS is working.
              EO

              A2
If you get this Alert TMG/NPMG

C8 C = Auto Blocking
8 = Routine Test and / or Type A Blocking
              Possible fault in LIBA.
C9 Auto Blocking

              a) Possible Line Fault or Foreign Battery on line ECT.

              b) Possible Faulty LIBA Card (DLB2U)

              c) Some type of D-Channel lock up. Due to a EMG Time
Switch problem - Try a block and deblock of the service.

DCHU Network Terminal (U-Interface) fault on D-Channel.
              1) Try spapping from Pt to Pt then Pt to Mpt or vice versa.
              2) Try a Block and de-block.
              3) Try another SLOMI.
              If this fails:
This seems to refer to a loss of D-channel.
Note the State of the LIBA.
If it is H00 there may be a problem in the EM.
The EM may not be able to fully establish its D-channel path to the time switch,
Contact TMG/P&O to rectify fault with EM or consider permanently patching the customers away from this EM.

BCHU Network Terminal Interface Fault on B-Channel
              B Channel Unavailiable.
This may not have a niticable effect on the customers service. And at this stage serves as only a warning.

DPFAULT Device Processor Fault in the Line
              a) Digital Path Fault - Try Swapping Pt-Pt Pt-MPt

LAFAULT Line Activation Failure

DH-STATE

AVFREE The service is a free subscriber
UNAV Not Available
              1) Try doing a full Verify.
              Check state.
              2) Try a block and de-block
              Check CPE connection.

AVBUSY Someone is making a call or is on a call.
POWONL Power On Line - This is a line Fault
There is foreign battery on the line.
The line is not able to be verified

ODRT On demand Routine Test

DT Diagnostic Test

VERIFY NOTES:

1) A Verify Failing TAU- BUSY The test unit is busy. It may be testing another service in its range of 8. It is usually not locked up. Try again Later Much Later.

2) A Verify Failing:
TEX Main Code: Premature Termination
TEX sub Code: No-Resp-Compl-TE

This means that the testing unit, that initiates the test on the ISTB card, is faulty so the testing of the ISTB cannot be carried out. Contact TMG/NPMG. For test card replacement.

3) A verify failing:
              Tsegment=3
Tsegment=6 Usually means NT1 loop fail- A line fault.
A hardware fault reading is sometimes not correct.
However sometimes this fault may be fixed by replacing the ISTB card because the card itself may only fail on load.
Accompanying Symptoms: Pulsing Line Power LED on NT1.

If you get this perform the following command:
EXE-REQ-MT:NAxxxx,NBR=xxx,TSEGMENT=11,VAL;
This will give you Resistance and Capacitance tests. Please pay attention to the last one.
A-B Value. This will indicate wether the fault is really on the line or is in the ISTB card itself.

A-B Values Around 1,57 UFAR - Are normal for a service.
Therefore:
A-B Values Around 1,57 UFAR - Usually means an ISTB card Fault because the line looks good.
A-B Values Around 50-90 nFAR - Usually indicates a Line Fault.

A Rarer but more Serious Problem:
A-B Values Around 1,72 UFAR - Sometime indicates that an ISTB card version BAEA-PCS04 has been installed, This is a new card and is the one presently manufactured by ALCATE. However this card dose not work as well as the card BACA-PCS04 which is th
e older and more robust version. Have the AFG change to ISTB to version BACA-PCS04.

Hex Lock-Up Meaning

00 Normal - However check the Channel 16 D-channel. If the link doesnt work. There may be a problem with corrupted STGAM information. P&O say a bitch to Fix NCOX> had this problem fixed by Steve Fartek. You have this
problem usually when you dial the cust number range and you receive busy tone. When the link is free.

20 Layer 2 Lockup-
              a) There maybe a loop back on the line

              b) This typically happens after the implementation of a new software unit loaded in the Node. eg Package 5.
LIPRAs may need to be blocked and deblocked individually to restore service
              to customer.

              c) Link was not commissioned properly NDC have Rx and Tx from another ETGAM
somehow crossed with this one. Note: Layer 1 will be up.

              d) STGAM may have locked up! Reassign STGAM association. Ask P&O for help with that if you dont know.

              e) Power Switch on the CPE is off!

              f) The CPE is locked up - Switch off CPE and Onagain
                                   - Break Layer 1 - Pull ETGAM card in Node.
                                   - or break Tx path and then restore.

24 Blocked after Protocol Restart

26 Open Circuit -Line Fault

28 Blocked from Layer 2
Blocked @ Digital Interface Path -DIP
              a) The customer equipment is disconnected or needs to be reset.
Blocking and de-blocking to the SNT may not reset the customer CPE this may have to be done by someone onsite. A simple power off and power on should reset the CPE.
To clear - Switch off CPE and On again.
                                   - Break Layer 1 - Pull ETGAM card in Node.
                                   - or break Tx path and then resto

              b) The D-channel for this Dip has failed to establish.
              Check programming for D-Channel association.
Check for Faulty one way RT3 DIP by following the D-Channel association to the RT3 device. Try blocking the range of RT3 devices that the D-Channel is connected to and then block to the SNT and bring up again. This will
establish another D- Channel RT3 connection.
              or

c) If you have a technician that plugs a Trend Araura Duet directly into the ETGAM port @ the Node it will not work and go H28. This is because LT supervision is on this the Line. Take LT supervision off the line and it should work. To do this ring P&O
and ask them to put in the commend to turn off Layer 2 and 3 CRC error checking:
DTIDP:DIP=Lxxxx;            {Prints the current setting for this DIP}
DTIDC:DIP=Lxxxx,SEC=NO; {Turns off the Alarms} Note: You may not have this command acess
DTIDC:DIP=Lxxxx,SEC=YES;    {Turns ON the Alarms}

2C Do a DTSTP:DIP=L0xxx; Look for aTx/Rx fault. Send a Tech to find fault.

30 No response to layer 3 restarts.

40 Blocked From Internal Path
              a) Try blocking to the SNT then bring it back up again. This should reset the link.

44 Blocked after Protocal Restart
              a) Try blocking to the SNT then bring it back up again. This should reset the link.

50

60 a) LIPRAs are manually blocked to fix De-block the LIPRAs.

              b) ETGAM Lockup - Ask P&O to reset D-Channel Association

68 a) The DIP is blocked
              Blocked from Internal Path
              or
              Blocked from Layer 2

E8 Blocked from digital Interface path for Channel 16

70 Blocked from internal path, Blocked layer 2 @ Switching Network Terminal - SNT

78 a) The SNT is Blocked, De-block SNT.
              Blocked from Digital Path

80 Normal for Channel 16
