HELP FOR THE MAINTENANCE MENU
-----------------------------

A. CFE provides the most common customer maintenance functions via this
       menu. For additional, platform unique or more complex operations,
       go to the Special Maintence Menu and its sub-menus.

       The functions provided here are analogous to those operations provided
       for Microlink customers via the TMN workstation. The include the
       ability to Enable, Disable and Verify (test) services either singly
       or in multiples (Line Hunt Groups).

       CFE choses the appropriate AXE command (or batches of commands)
       to perform tasks. Where the SNB is a LHG, a choice of customer lines
       (LIBA) to test will be offered when a test key is pressed.

       For PRA, where the customer has one (or more DIPS) CFGE determines all
       all active components and allows easy navigation between customer DIPS
       where required (or selected).

C. The AXE moves customers with faults (as it sees them) by moving them
       into a blocking state. It then provides further information on the via
       the use of ABS state codes (H'00 - XX). Notes on decoding these and PRA
       are Fault Codes below the key stroke information.

B. These notes are to explain each key function and its use.

HOW TO DECODE DEVICE ABS HEX STATES!

The AXE sets a register which contains 8 bits. To underatand the suspected fault
condition, write the octect into binary then use the rules below to decode.

                       Bits  7 6 5 3 2 1 0   (l to R)
    eg 1.  H'02 becomes      0 0 0 0 0 1 0
           from the BRA table below:
           1. Traffic barring (Bit 7 = 0) &
              Traffic barred because of Layer 2 interruption!

       2. H'00 indicates no fault condition. For BRA & PRA it also does not reflect
           any signaling condition (MACROLINK & Siteline differ here)

(BRA RULES)
----------------------------------------------------

If Bit 7 is set to "0" (eg H'0x to H'7x) the device is Traffic Blocked as follows
BIT0 = 1, "Traffic barred because of Layer 1 interruption"
BIT1 = 1, "Traffic barred because of Layer 2 interruption"
BIT2 = 1, "Traffic barred because of Layer 3 interruption"
BIT3 = 1, "Spare"
BIT4 = 1, "Temporary traffic restriction because of Message Flow Control
           on ACCESS level"
BIT5 = 1, "Temporary traffic restriction because of Message Flow Control on EM level"
BIT6 = 1, "Spare"
BIT7 = 0, "Bit map comprises traffic barring reasons"

----------------------------------------------------

If Bit 7 is set to "1" (eg H'8x, 9x etc) the device is Auto Blocked as follows
BIT0 = 1, "U-activation or U-synchronization fault"
BIT1 = 1, "Failed attempt to establish D-channel path in time switch"
BIT2 = 1, "Device processor fault"
BIT3 = 1, "Routine test AND/OR Type A blocking by other block (A: Fault in LIBA)"
BIT4 = 1, "Interface board not as specified in command EXHMI
        AND/OR LSM power or LSM clock fault"
BIT5 = 1, "Type B blocking caused by fault in time switch
        (B: Fault in interworking block)"
BIT6 = 1, "Reason for traffic barring of the access, also exists"
BIT7 = 1, "Bit map comprises automatic blocking reason"

(PRA RULES)
BIT0 = 1, "Type A - Autoblocking"
BIT1 = 1, "Type B - Autoblocking from Time Switch"
BIT2 = 1, "Blocked due to Protocol Restart Fail"
BIT3 = 1, "DIP Blocking"
BIT4 = 1, "Blocked at SNT"
BIT5 = 1, "Dch blocked at Layer 2"
BIT6 = 1, "Blocked from Internal Path"
BIT7 = 1, "Spare"
