USING LONG TERM MEASUREMENTS (aka Quality Measurements) IN SAS 5.0 switches

 A. SAS5.0 S12 Exchanges can undertake G821 service quality menasurements
(AAL - LTM) via the assignment of a measurement program to service
using either it's DN or Equipment Number.

Programs are either started by DN or NA, however the DN selected must
connect to a NA therefore MN GDNs cannot be used. CFE will offer a
pick box for selecting all or individual NAs from a hunt group.

The Program iis then assigned to Control element of the subsriber
module containing the customer. Only one program can be assigned to a
module although up to 8 BRA services can be one the program. Obviousely
they ALL must have the same NA value.

S12 allows differnt report formats and also whether analysis is based
on different thressholds ie. 10-6 or -3 CFE selects individual
reports (seperate directions not sum) and 10-6 critieria. A summary of
the G821 format and expanations are shown in Figure 1 below.

There are no time restrictions, however at measurement preiod completion, the
program must be removed so that the resource is freed up for other services.
CFE allows a pick and remove choice with a final result printout option.

        ********************************************************************************
NB: 1. LTMs are limited to 32 programs per LAS/TNS. These programs are for ISDN
services and are FOR BRA ONLY (PRA using a different process).
            2. Only 8 LTMS can be established per one NA addresss (ie 8 per ISM etc)

        ********************************************************************************

 B. CFE supplies the all the necessary terminal functions you need for LTM, these notes
are to explain the use of each menu key.

"1". List all DN on the specificed LTM in this exchange.
      (1) Displays current customers for the program specified (MEANBR argument).

"3". Initiate a QM on this DN.
       (1) Offers a check box for start / stop time and dates or default 1 month.
       (2) Uses DP CREATE-LTM to establish program on the NA/EN

"4". Display current results for this DN.
       (1) identifies the MEANBR value of the program containing the customer's DN.
       (2) Get trhe result of ALL DNs on the same MEANBR program.

"5". Remove a QM from this DN.
       (1) identifies the MEANBR value of the program containing the customer's DN.
       (2) Get trhe result of ALL DNs on the same MEANBR program."4". Initiate a QM on the LHG.
       (3) Stops the parent program
       (4) Removes the parent program

"G". Go to full screen to study Printout
       (1) Allows examination of the raw SLO reports contained in a
